The Oak Edit

The Oak Edit is the editorial branch of Oak Interiors—a place for stories about timeless interiors, thoughtful details, and the art of creating a collected home.

My love of storytelling began in 2012, when I started my first blog while studying magazine journalism at the University of Texas at Austin. Inspired by dreams of writing for a fashion publication, it became a creative outlet for sharing the beautiful things that caught my eye.

Over the years, that creative curiosity followed me through a career in fashion and luxury retail, spanning digital merchandising, photography, buying, and planning. Each experience helped shape the way I see a room today: with an appreciation for composition, craftsmanship, beautiful materials, and a thoughtful mix of old and new.

But it was the renovation of my 1940s Craftsman bungalow that ultimately transformed a longtime love of interiors into something more. Restoring the house taught me how deeply our surroundings can influence the way we feel and live—and inspired me to pursue interior design professionally and establish Oak Interiors.

Today, The Oak Edit is the next chapter of the blog I began all those years ago. Here, I share interiors, inspiration, travel, personal style, and the details that make a home feel layered, storied, and entirely its own.

A Little More About Me

I’m Massachusetts-born, Austin-raised, and now based in Dallas, Texas. I’m an interior designer, lifelong writer, frequent traveler, and firm believer that the most beautiful spaces are collected gradually rather than created all at once.

My style is rooted in the meeting of romantic and refined: timeworn materials, graceful silhouettes, old-world details, rich color, and rooms that feel as though they have a story to tell. I’m endlessly inspired by historic homes, English cottages, European travels, vintage finds, and the quiet beauty of objects chosen with care.

When I’m not designing or gathering inspiration, I’m usually planning my next trip, fine-tuning my wardrobe, or in the kitchen stirring pasta with one hand and holding a glass of wine with the other. Best of all, I’m dog mom to Josie, my sweet blue heeler and constant companion.

Welcome to The Oak Edit. I’m so glad you’re here.
